  • What is the new telemedicine service?

    We've launched a new telemedicine service for our members in the UK. The new service will be provided by Medicspot on a pay and claim basis only, and will allow you to access remote video consultations with a GP. 

    *Consultations are on a pay and claim basis only. 

    Consultation fee and medication will be covered as per the terms of your plan. Please note any Out-Patient deductible, per visit excess or co-insurance will apply as per terms of your plan.     Members must be located in the UK to access this telemedicine service.

  • Why have you launched a telemedicine service?

    As the UK gradually eases public health restrictions following the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made available access to telemedicine services for our UK based members on a pay and claim reimbursement basis only. 

    The purpose of the telemedicine service is to make it even easier for you to access the medical advice and treatment you need, anywhere, anytime. 

    During the current COVID-19 pandemic, we understand that many of our members may prefer or be required to engage in a virtual consultation, so we hope this new telemedicine service will reassure you that you can still access the treatment you need during this difficult time.

  • What telemedicine services can I access?

    The Medicspot service gives you access to:

    • Video consultations with a GP 
    • Available 9am - 9pm, Monday - Saturday and 9am - 6pm on Sundays
    • Prescription service - which can be collected from a nearby pharmacy of your choice
    • You can also access virtual GP consultations at your nearest local pharmacy if you prefer
  • How can I access/ register for the telemedicine service?

    Book a video consultation: You can see a private doctor in minutes on your smartphone or tablet. To access this service simply click here to book a video consultation with a GP. 

    Once you book your appointment you will receive a confirmation email and SMS with the access link. You can access this service any time, any where!

    At your local pharmacy clinic: If you prefer you can also click here to book a same day virtual consultation at one of 300+ pharmacy clinics across the UK. 

    A private doctor will then examine you remotely using state-of-the-art technology and any prescribed medication can be collected on your way out. Watch this video here to find out more. 

  • What sort of medical conditions is the telemedicine service suitable for?

    Medicspot uses video conferencing and examination equipment which allows their doctors to treat 96% of health conditions, from aches and pains to mental health issues.

    A non-exhaustive list of common conditions treated by Medicspot includes:

    • Infections (urinary tract infections, cystitis, nail infections, athlete’s foot)
    • Ear, nose and throat (tonsillitis, ear infections, laryngitis, sinusitis, tinnitus)
    • Coughs and colds (chest infections, asthma, pneumonia, reflux, influenza, fever)
    • Aches and pain (arthritis, back pain, muscle sprain, tension headache, migraine)
    • Sexual health (erectile dysfunction, contraceptive pill, birth control, heavy period)
    • Skin problems (acne, cold sores, eczema, ringworm, hair loss, psoriasis, impetigo)
    • Eye problems (conjunctivitis, red eye, stye, blepharitis)
    • Other health issues (incontinence, weight loss, smoking cessation, period delay)
  • How long does it take to access a virtual consultation?

    You can book an appointment online and get seen by a doctor within minutes. The advantage of the telemedicine service is that it can help you to avoid long waiting hours at a clinic. 

  • Will my regular GP be informed?

    Medicspot do not send your notes to your usual GP unless you have given your consent for to do so.

  • What kind of device do I need to access the video consultation with the GP?
    To access a Medicspot video consultation with a GP you will need a mobile or tablet device with a camera and microphone as well as a good internet connection. You can also use your laptop device if it is running the most up to date version of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, or Opera, but we suggest using your mobile phone or tablet as the preferred option.
  • What happens if I experience a technical issue?

    If you have any technical issues, you can contact the Medicspot customer support team on +44(0)2036378398 and they will be able to help you get back online with the doctor or continue with a telephone consultation.

  • Who can access the telemedicine service?

    The telemedicine service is available to all Now Health International members located in the UK.

  • Is the telemedicine service free?

    The telemedicine service is available on a pay and claim basis only. This means if you use the service you will have to pay upfront, and then claim back your expenses in the usual way, e.g. via your secure online portfolio or our mobile App. 

    The consultation fee and any medication expenses will be covered as per the terms of your plan. Any Out-Patient deductible, per visit excess or co-insurance will apply as per terms of your plan.

    Please note, only Out-Patient consultations are available via the telemedicine service. If your plan does not include Out-Patient cover, then you will not be eligible for reimbursement.

  • Can I use any other telemedicine service in the UK?

    Medicspot are our preferred telemedicine partner in the UK and we encourage all our members to use this telemedicine service where possible. 

    If you wish to use another telemedicine service provider in the UK, you must access this service on a pay and claim basis only. However please note that the 'Reasonable and Customary Charges' condition of your plan will apply, so we may not be able to reimburse you for the full cost of the treatment. Please refer to your Member's Handbook for further details.
