  • When are the changes effective from?

    The changes to our plans and pricing are effective from 1 April 2021. 

  • Have premiums increased?

    We've worked to deliver minimal premium increases across our plans to ensure price stability for you and your clients. Premiums for our enhanced WorldCare and SimpleCare plans have seen an average premium increase of 7%. There may be some variation depending on the plan and rating area.

  • What are the key benefit changes for WorldCare and SimpleCare? What cover has been enhanced?

    Some of the enhancements we have made include:

    • Renal failure and dialysis: We have added Out-Patient and Day-Patient renal failure and renal dialysis treatment across all our In-Patient only plans (WorldCare Essential and SimpleCare Core)
    • Telemedicine services: Cover now extended to all members with Out-Patient benefits. 
    • Mental health: We have upgraded our cover for mental health consultations with a Psychologist by allowing five sessions to be covered without the referral from a Medical Practitioner. We have also increased the total number of mental health consultations under some of our WorldCare plans.
    • The Out-Patient Physiotherapy and Alternative Therapies Benefit (Out-Patient WorldCare and SimpleCare plans) now covers up to five sessions without the need for prescription or referral (excluding dietitian). This benefit has also been enhanced to provide cover for chiropodists and podiatrists across all WorldCare and SimpleCare Outpatient Plans. 
    • Wellness: Our Wellness Benefit (under Wellness, Optical and Vaccination option) now includes cover for BRCA I and BRCA II genetic testing as a means of identifying a predisposition to breast cancer, bone density checks (for women age 50 and above) and well-child tests (Up to the age of 5 years).
    • The Pregnancy and Childbirth Medical Conditions Benefit has been replaced with a new Pregnancy Medical Conditions Benefit. We are also introducing a 12-month waiting period for this benefit, which does not impact our renewing members.

      For policies issued by API binder for China, the waiting period will read as:
      Waiting Period: Costs incurred within 180 days from the Start Date of the mother are excluded, after which 95% coinsurance will be applied from 181 days to 1 year same as the maternity exclusion.

  • What updates have been made to the exclusions?

    We have done some changes to our exclusion wordings. Please refer to the updated Member's Handbook for further details, which will be available shortly.  

  • What changes have been made to loadings and discounts?

    From 1 April 2021, we will offer a 15% Large Family Discount for newly joining large families. Large families will enjoy a 15% discount if a member adds a spouse and at least three children to their plan.

    *The existing 10% Family Discount is still available if member add a spouse and at least one child to the plan.

  • What are the key benefit changes of Member Assistance Programme (MAP) for our individual and family clients?

    MAP for our individual and family clients: We will be launching this program in April 2021 as part of our ongoing commitment to assisting members with their well-being.
