When a dream Caribbean holiday to celebrate his 60th birthday turned into a medical emergency, Edward and his wife Edila found themselves in a frightening situation far from home.

Finally able to begin reflecting after an emotionally overwhelming and exhausting episode in their lives, Edila got in touch with us to thank us and provide a brief update on Edward’s recovery.
Edila told us: “A Caribbean holiday for Edward’s birthday milestone celebration turned into a nightmare and pretty much felt like a trip to hell and back.
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the support and for going that extra mile to make things easier for us as we got back home to familiar surroundings and a medical network we know and trust.
“I will say it was not easy and not fun going through the process, but once I spoke to Dr. Shabrina, I felt supported and that things would fall into place. I understand and know that there was a personal commitment from each of you to ensure we got home safely and without the stress and anxiety of dealing with the financial aspects of hospital bills, and thank you also for the medical escort who I have to commend as professional and efficient.
“Following his discharge from hospital, Edward is now seeing a reputed cardiologist who seems happy enough with his progress, but there’s work to be done in terms of rehab and heart muscle recovery which we will be working out over the next weeks, as well as some other paperwork and emergency claims that I can finally bring myself to focus on without being overwhelmed.
