Martin has over 25 years’ financial services experience and 20 years’ direct experience in the expat health insurance market. He developed and managed a high profile IPMI specialist and has lived in Dubai, Hong Kong and the UK over the course of the last 20 years. Martin has extensive knowledge of the markets we trade in.
Matthew Maunder – Chief Operating Officer
Matthew is a senior operations, infrastructure and change leader with 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry. He has strong international experience and a track record of delivering transformational agendas. Matthew has a reputation for delivering against the strategic agenda, and has key strengths in scale leadership, change and the development and implementation of new operating models.
Damian Delaney - Chief Commercial Officer
Damian has had an extensive career in international financial services. Working for a number of blue chip brands in insurance, banking and wealth management, Damian has held local, regional and global roles across product/proposition development, marketing/sales/distribution, corporate strategy/partnerships, new market entry as well as mergers and acquisitions. Damian earned his BA in Economics & Finance from Western Sydney University and an Executive MBA from London Business School.
Sean Lewis - Chief Financial Officer
Sean joins us from Taipei, where he was the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Risk Officer for Allianz Taiwan Life. As CFO for Prudential Corporation Asia in Japan, Heng An Standard Life, China, MIH Group, Indonesia and Schroders South East Asia, Sean brings with him extensive industry and executive experience, with a strong understanding of Asia Pacific and International Markets. Sean is a Chartered Accountant and has significant financial services, experience in insurance, asset Management and banking including accountability for M&A, strategy and business planning, capital and solvency management, finance operations, financial analysis and reporting, investments, actuarial, product development, accounting, risk, regulatory, internal audit and control, compliance, and corporate governance.
Zahir Sharif - Managing Director - Middle East and Africa
Zahir carries over 16 years experience in insurance across both developed and emerging markets. He has worked in 3 continents and with over 21 countries. General management responsibilities include full P&L, strategy, underwriting, risk management, contract negotiation, restructuring, acquisitions, distribution management and talent development. Zahir has proven track record in building businesses and driving profitable growth.
Ralph Tam – Managing Director - Asia Pacific
Ralph has over 25 years’ experience in the domestic and international health insurance markets in Asia. Ralph is experienced in making start-up insurance ventures successful, including being one of the first market entrants to the market in China in both marketing and administration of international private medical insurance.
Rob McIntyre - General Manager - Singapore
Rob has many years of international health insurance experience in both Europe and Asia, and in particular Singapore. Coming from both a sales and technical background, Rob has a full understanding of the international health insurance market.
Cathy Wang - Managing Director China and Head of Operations APAC
Cathy is a seasoned Insurance professional having spent over 16 years in the industry. Cathy has held Executive positions such as Medical Director, Chief Underwriter, Vice President Operations and IT, and has managed all operational aspects of international Insurance company. Additionally, Cathy is a trained Physician and has spent many years practicing specialist medicine in the Tier 3 Hospital in China. Cathy has gained experience with key players in Asia, especially the China Insurance industry such as AIA, Aegon, WellPoint, and more recently as the regional Head of Operations for APAC with Aetna managing operations in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines. Her strong leadership, intensive insurance experience and passion for healthcare have seen her lead large teams and transform operations and customer service excellence.
Alex Dalton – Managing Director - Europe
Alex Dalton has 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry in a variety of roles across the UK mortgage and insurance markets. He combines strong operational experience with a focus on delivering customer service strategies, process improvement and productivity gains.
Alison Massey - Group Marketing Director
Alison has over 20 years’ experience in financial services marketing and communications, the last 10 of which have been in the international health insurance field. A qualified, technical marketer, her core skill set lies in digital marketing and brand development.
Mark Dickinson - Underwriting Director
Mark has over 18 years’ dedicated underwriting experience and has spent the last 13 years working in IPMI, both in the UK and Dubai. He has a track record of supporting successful development in both emerging and established markets through innovative product design and pricing policy. Mark is an acknowledged technical expert within our industry.
Peter Spencer - Head of Compliance and Legal
Peter has worked in general insurance for over 20 years first in finance and then in regulation and compliance. Having worked in insurance brokers, agents, companies and the Lloyd’s market with interests spanning multiple jurisdictions, he brings with him a wealth of relevant legal and compliance knowledge of all of our key markets and countries of operation.
Lauren Ellis - Group HR & Training Director
Lauren is a certified HR practioner and has gained generalist HR experience in service and aviation industries working with key international brands supporting large client groups. Lauren’s scope of HR expertise includes recruitment and selection, employee relations, talent and performance management , training and assessment, and compensation and benefits. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business, majoring in Human Resources and Economics, and is Training and Assessment (TAA) qualified. Working in senior strategic HR roles within service focused industries, Lauren has supported high volume business growth, utilising the full range of HR tools and business insights to enable business leaders to achieve and ensuring efficient HR programs and a sustainable talent pipeline. Lauren joined the business in 2014 and is accountable for all facets of HR operations and people and talent development.
Rillian Hearst - Group Operations Director
Rillian has over 28 years’ experience in financial services and insurance operations management. Working in global, regional and local roles he has experience across 5 continents with proven skills in developing and executing strategy to take businesses forward.
Harinder Brad - Legal Director
A UK qualified lawyer with 15 years of legal experience with 7 years in private practice in the UK and for the past 8 years in-house as a Senior/General Counsel for a large multinational Swiss Insurance Company in their UK, Singapore and Middle East offices. With extensive legal and regulatory experience within the insurance, financial services, and regulatory sectors. Has advised on large cross jurisdictional global projects, M&A deals, litigation & investigations, compliance and dealing with Regulatory Authorities around the world. A solution driven lawyer with particular strength in providing innovative strategic solutions both in a legal and commercial context.
Elizabet Narciandi - Managing Director, Americas
Elizabet has 20 years of experience in the International Private Medical Insurance industry with a proven track record of operational excellence and solid customer service expertise. Elizabet joined Best Doctors in 2010. In her position as Managing Director, Americas, she is responsible for the strategic direction and operation of the business in Latin America, the Caribbean and Canada. She has a degree in Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Management Information Systems from Florida International University, (FIU), along with a Project management certification, PMI.
David Capote - Americas VP of Sales and Marketing
David began his career in 1997 with Amedex Insurance Company and then spent six years with Bupa International. He has spent the past five years with Pan-American Life Insurance Company as Vice President of Sales for International Major Medical products and was responsible for local individual health sales. During his career, David has also served on various Board of Directors positions in the USA and Latin America.
