Enhanced WorldCare - FAQ

We have created this new plan in response to feedback from our members, and to ensure we can offer a more comprehensive package for all your healthcare needs. As well as enhanced benefit limits, we’ve also added new services to our plan to help support your overall health and well-being.

An annual deductible works in a similar way to an excess, as it means that the customer agrees to pay for a set amount of the medical treatment they claim every year, before the insurance plan kicks in.

However, with a per medical condition excess, members have to pay the excess for each separate medical condition they seek treatment for. With our new annual deductible, our members only need to pay once per year.

Our new annual deductible also gives members greater flexibility to better manage their plan and healthcare costs, and can even help to reduce premiums if members opt for a higher annual deductible.

To ensure you get the right diagnosis and the best treatment, we are offering customers of our enhanced WorldCare plans access to a second medical opinion service through our partnership with Interconsultation® from Best Doctors Inc.

This gives our members access to over 53,000 highly renowned specialists globally, who can help advise on the appropriate diagnosis and treatment, particularly for complex or long term conditions. If members choose to use this service, we’ll provide a second medical opinion within 2-3 weeks, including a final report to share with the treating physician. Members can contact their local customer service team to arrange for a second medical opinion.

Our new partnership with red24 gives customers of our enhanced WorldCare plans access to extensive safety, security and travel-related information, as well as 24/7 crisis management support - a vital service service for our globally mobile members.

This includes access to a 24/7 Crisis Response Management Centre and health and safety alerts, including country risk profiles from red24's website.

If members want to use your enhanced WorldCare plan to access medical treatment overseas, our new global concierge service will help ensure the process is hassle free.

We’ll provide dedicated end to end support throughout treatment, including coordination of all appointments, from the initial consultation through to hospitalisation and treatment. We’ll even provide advice on finding the best medical provider overseas and liaise between different providers and other parties as needed.

We’re glad you enjoy our current WorldCare plan. However, our enhanced WorldCare offers members exactly the same great standard of service that they’ve come to expect, but now with even greater benefits and new added value services.

What’s more, we’re are offering sharper prices on select plans in certain markets, so members may be able to access the enhanced WorldCare at a more competitive premium.

As a general rule we’re offering the same great benefits as before, with some small variations across markets, and we have even increased limits on some parts of our plans, including diagnostic, chronic and maternity care.

Members should contact their intermediary if they use one or get in touch direct during the renewal process, and we can help map them across to the new deductible. For example, members that currently have a USD 1,000 excess, may wish to consider the USD 1,000 annual deductible. Remember that members who choose a higher annual deductible can usually get a lower premium.

If you are an existing member your no claims bonus will not be affected if you upgrade to our enhanced WorldCare plan. If you have been lucky enough not to have to make a claim in the past year, then your no claims bonus will automatically be transferred across to our enhanced WorldCare plan at renewal.

Yes, upgrading to our enhanced WorldCare is simple and easy. Our existing members can keep the same plan number and secure online portfolio log in, and will still be able to access all our digital tools, including our Mobile App.
