New, enhanced travel assistance service launched

Today we’ve announced a new partnership with Assist America to provide a complimentary travel assistance service to members with our enhanced WorldCare plans.

We are continually reviewing the added value services we offer alongside our enhanced WorldCare plans to ensure we deliver genuine value beyond our core plan protection. We know that many of our members frequently travel overseas, both for work and pleasure - but sometimes travel can be stressful, particularly if something goes wrong while you're abroad.

That's why we've teamed up with Assist America to offer an enhanced travel assistance service. This means in addition to our international health insurance protection, our members will also have access to support for both medical and non-medical related travel issues or emergencies.

Our new travel assistance service will give members access to pre-trip travel information, including advice on country visa requirements, vaccination recommendations and other important security information. While travelling members will also be able to access support to locate lost luggage, replace travel documents and receive referrals to locally based language interpreters and legal counsel; critically important services to the large numbers of expatriates and international business travellers we serve.

During a medical emergency overseas, in addition to the health treatment covered by our plans, enhanced WorldCare members will also be able to receive wider support such as a compassionate visit from a friend or family member if they need to be hospitalised for more than five days while travelling. In the event that a medical emergency abroad leaves a member’s children unattended, we’ll also be able to help arrange care or transportation home.

We hope this new service will help make life easier for our members when they travel overseas!
